When Janie dropped her quadriplegic dog Sammi off at the California Animal Rehabilitation (CARE) facility in Santa Monica, she had no idea she would find a whole new pup when she came back to bring him home.

After surgery was unsuccessful in removing a bone growth on the eight-year-old’s spine, his health continued to decline. However, his family was determined to try anything in order to give Sammi the best life possible, which brought them to the skilled folks at CARE.

Sammi was treated with daily rehabilitation, and despite having other vets say he would live the rest of his life paralyzed, the strong pooch gave Janie the sweetest surprise when she greeted him three months later.

Her reaction will have you grabbing for tissues (in a good way!).

She probably expected positive results from the incredible facility, but nothing as amazing as she discovered. It’s remarkable to see how much dedication and persistence can truly pay off. I have a feeling Sammi’s family will be fighting over who gets to take him for his daily walks from now on.
