The flannel moth caterpillar has gotten quite a bit of attention recently. Why? It looks as if its a fan of Donald Trump’s haircut, and is now being called the Donald Trump Look Alike Caterpillar.

Television host and entomologist Phil Torres photographed the creature in Peru. But if you happen to live in the region or ever find yourself in its territory, don’t try to run your fingers through its luscious locks as picking up this “toxic toupee” could be disastrous. The “hair” is poisonous barbs that can cause humans and other animals excruciating pain along with headache, nausea, vomiting, trouble breathing and even shock.
Actually, several species of these funny and fuzzy-looking caterpillars, of the genus Megalopyge, can be found in the Southern United States, Mexico and parts of South America. And they can grow quite large.
While the caterpillar’s similarities to Trump are certainly remarkable, there are other animals who Trump may have stolen his signature hair from, or vice versa.
Some say the guinea pig is the closest.

This bunny is definitely in the running too, of course it looks like it took quite a bit of styling to achieve that look.
What do you think? It seems the crazy looking caterpillar, Megalopyge opercularis, not only has the dubious honor of being the most poisonous caterpillar in the U.S., it’s got Donald Trumps looks too.
