Indiana Jones exists thanks to James Bond!

How can this be? Well, it turns out that Steven Spielberg was a huge fan of the British spy and asked the producers if he could make a James Bond movie. He was told no. After he was rejected, he never asked again and went on to make Indiana Jones with his buddy George Lucas.
