Bruce Willis has long been a supporter of the American armed forces. He tried to enlist for the second Iraqi war but was deterred because he was too old. He has helped out in other ways though.
In 2002, his youngest daughter, Tallulah, suggested that he buy Girl Scout cookies for the troops. What better way to send a little bit of America overseas? Willis bought 12,000 cookies, and they were given to troops aboard the USS John F. Kennedy and stationed throughout the Middle East.
Willis also traveled to Iraq in 2003 as part of a USO tour. His band, The Accelerators, performed for the troops. He said that what he saw while there was not in line with the negative way the media was portraying the war. He recounts how he saw soldier helping people - get power and water back on, re-open hospitals, etc.
