"800-Year-Old Mobile Phone" Found In Austria, According To Alien Theorists

While it’s well-established a Nokia 3310 could hold out for years of mistreatment, there are bizarre claims that archaeologists have found an 800-year-old object left by deity-like alien figures.

Conspiracy theorists have been going nuts over images that appear to show an artifact with a great amount of similarity to a mobile phone. Although the theorists do not claim it was ever a working phone, they appear to believe the object is an attempt to imitate ancient alien technology, as explained in the video below.

The artifact was allegedly found on an archaeological dig near Salzburg, Austria. The reports say the object is made of clay and inscribed with Cuneiform script. However, all of this is still unverified.

Aside from these claims, there is a distinct lack of information on the object and the archeological dig from which it was supposedly found.

Despite this, plenty of blogs and websites have already started conspiring over what the object could be. Mysterious Universe wrote about the “discovery,” saying: “What is it? Is it evidence of an advanced civilization or time travel…? Did some Anunnaki [ancient Mesopotamian deities] accidentally leave his phone in Austria? Probably not. The archaeologists believe the tablet was most likely brought there by traders from Earth.” The website also appears to be inconsistent with other sources on the dating of the object.

Due to this shaky information, most people have dismissed the photograph as a hoax.

The claim the artifact is from the 13th century C.E. also appears to be inconsistent. Cuneiform was a form of script developed by the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia – present-day Iraq and Iran – somewhere between 3500 and 3000 B.C.E. Although the script was once commonplace throughout the Middle East, it is believed to have perished in favor of alphabetical script around 2,000 years ago.
