The notoriously nudie calendar is known for depicting models in various states of pin-up-style undress, but this year it has undergone a revamp – it will feature images of inspiring women with their clothes on, rather than models, who are known for their accomplishments, not their assets. However, the joke here is that Amy didn’t get the memo. The list of stars includes tennis superstar Serena Willams and philanthropist Agnes Gund.
Although clearly the photo is part of a wider joke, it is also an unbelievably powerful move from the Schumer camp. She bares it all in the photo and captioned the photo on Twitter: “Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman. Thank you @annieleibovitz.”
Social media have reacted to the post calling it “empowering” and “stunning” and I’ve got to say that I agree.
