We have shared Roeselien Raimond’s incredible fox photography a number of times, simply because her fox photos blow us away! The talented photographer knows just how to capture the most natural photos of wild foxes, offering a peek into what life as a fox really looks like when they don’t think anyone is watching.

Raimond is a Dutch nature photographer with a specialty for capturing Zen foxes. The wild foxes in her photos tend to look very happy and at peace, just enjoying a regular day soaking up the warmth of the sun, or lounging in the snow. It’s clear looking at her photos that foxes are great at enjoying the little things in life.

Turns out, just like all animals, wild foxes have something to teach us. The secret to being as happy as a Zen fox is simple: notice and appreciate all of the little things in life, just like they do. This lesson is also the secret to capturing a perfect photo of a Zen fox.

In an interview with Bored Panda Raimond shared how she captures so many stunning personal images, “I learned to do as foxes do, just being there and see what might happen. And in the mean time, I just enjoy smelling some fresh air and feeling the sun on my skin.”

Raimond said, “I love them best when they’re totally at ease: free from pain, fear, cold, hunger or any other discomfort. Of course they have their duties calling as well. But once that rabbit is consumed, the territory defined and taken care of important things like procreation and upbringing, it’s time to relax.”

Everyone wants to capture a photo of a Zen fox, but the task isn’t as easy as many novice wildlife photographers may assume. Raimond said, “There’s a contradiction going on when it comes to capturing Zen Foxes: the harder you try, the more you’ll move away from your goal. If you are too eager, an animal will sense that eagerness and will remain alert.”

“Foxes can be fully ‘in the moment’, as if they invented mindfulness themselves. No need for yoga classes or meditation courses, since relaxing is their second nature.”
