Maria A. Aristidou is a commercial coffee artist, illustrator and cake designer with a host of unique talents. Her latest cake art will make your mouth water while simultaneously delighting your appreciation for the arts.
You may already know Aristidou by her famous coffee paintings. The artist writes on Facebook, “Firstly made by accident, Coffee painting has really grown on me.” Just to give you an idea how awesome her coffee paintings are, here’s her coffee-splattered version of Ariel from The Little Mermaid—pretty impressive, right?!
The artist doesn’t just create her favorite popular culture characters out of coffee anymore, she has moved onto to recreating famous paintings on cakes. Her latest project known as Art On Cakes will blow you away.
The cakes you see below were made for a local Patisserie Vienna Boutique, Cake Gallery in Larnaca, Cyprus. Each cake was made from Vienna Boutique’s highly coveted delicious chocolate recipe and then covered in sugar paste followed by edible paints. The artist says the painstaking process takes between 6 and 10 hours on average depending on the size and complexity of the design.
