Meet Sand Cats: The Ultra-Cute Wild Cats That Always Look Like Kittens

We all know animals can be adorable at any age, young or old, but there’s no denying how much cuter they are when they’re still just little kiddos. Luckily, this delightful breed of wild cats has the best of both worlds.

They’re called sand cats and they simply never grow out of their kitten looks! They’re also the only cats able to dwell in desert areas — a layer of thick fur on their paws protects them from extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Warning: their level of super cuteness might make you want to bring one home, but they don’t really do the whole domesticated thing. With a set of mega-sharp claws, the fierce felines are better enjoyed from afar.

1. “I’m an adult? Are you sure?”

2. “I saw you bogart that tuna sandwich, man.”

3. He’s the freeze tag champion of the desert.

4. “Okay, I’m done growing.”

5. Just your average teddy-fox-bear-cat.

6. Mom (on the left) looks about two days older than her kid.

7. “I said no pictures!”

8. These pointy ears just kill me.

9. “I thought I gave you my nap schedule.”

10. Her eyes just melted my heart.

11. “I’m good back here, thanks.”

12. She doesn’t need the beauty rest, but she’ll take it.

13. “I’m better than this view.”

14. “Socks and sandals? Really?”

15. The paper wasn’t shredded when they gave it to her.

16. “Dang it. The other stump was cozier.”

17. “Yeah, I know. I’m awesome. I get that a lot.”

18. So. TINY.

19. “Gimme that bagel right meow.”

20. “You try being this cute and not getting tired.”

21. “Don’t even try with me today, okay?”

22. “Well, if you’re gonna nap…”

23. “Ooh, I must’ve missed that spot after lunch.”

24. Ultimately, though, cats are still gonna be cats.

If only these cuties were really as snuggly as they seem, but their wild hearts prefer the solitary life. Thank goodness they’re not camera shy, at least.
