Cat owners in Japan are always doing something cool with their pets, like giving their cats hilarious anime eyes or turning IKEA doll beds into adorable cat beds. Now these creative cat owners are onto something new, making their pets look like Totoro. Totoro is a loveable wood spirit from the Japanese animated film My Neighbor Totoro.
Many creative animal owners are using simple paper cutouts attached to cats’ backs to resemble Totoro. Yet, one Twitter user @t_u_n_a_m_e_l_t has taken it to all new heights using googly-eyes instead to make his cat look even more like a real-life Totoro. No matter how you do it it’s not difficult to make your cat look like Totoro, after seeing these pictures you will likely be inspired to grab your own feline and give it a go (cats everywhere, you’ve been warned!)
The awesome googly-eye photos of pets looking just like Totoro have been retweeted more than 13,000 times. While Japan is clearly gaga for cats, dogs are getting some attention in Taiwan, where groomers are giving them geometrically shaped haircuts.
