A rabbit's legs are so strong that they can break their own backs!

Imagine punching the air so hard you could dislocate your arm. For a rabbit, that is an all too accurate reality. Their hind legs are so powerful that if they kick, even against nothing, they could break their own back.

When someone purchases a rabbit they are often given instructions on how to approach the animal and how to grab, or hold them. Serious injuries occur when one of the animals attempts to run from a well intentioned child who just doesn’t realize the fragility of the small creatures. It is also advised that you should avoid startling them when they are successfully in your grasp. A frightened rabbit is liable to kick its hardest away to free itself from whatever scenario causes its flight.

Of course, the danger isn’t all for the animal. The power behind a single rabbit’s kick can propel it 12 feet. A panicking, upset rabbit can prove to be a considerable adversary for anybody, especially a small, unprepared child. Pick a rabbit up with a one hand under its chest and it's rump, holding it to your chest.
