Ben & Jerry's is an American ice cream company that manufactures ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and ice cream novelty products.
The company's sense of humor when naming their flavors has caused quite a bit of controversy in the past. In partnership with Freedom to Marry, Ben & Jerry's renamed the Chubby Hubby flavor for the month of September 2009 and changed the name to Hubby Hubby. This was to celebrate the legalization of same sex marriage in Vermont at that time.
According to the company's website, they care for their employees, and it specifically says: "Ben & Jerry's commitment to economic justice starts with our employees. That's why we're committed to paying all of our Ben & Jerry's Vermont full-time workers a livable wage—enough to allow for a quality of life that includes decent housing, health care, transportation, food, recreation, savings, and miscellaneous expenses."
But not many people know that Ben & Jerry's employees also get to take home three free pints of the company's ice cream—per day! Yes, you read it right. Every day!
