A lawyer died by trying to prove to students that a window on the 24th story was unbreakable!

Garry Hoy was a corporate and securities lawyer practicing in Toronto, Canada. He worked for the firm Holden Day Wilson and was a respected lawyer in the area. Tragically, Hoy died in 1993 during a demonstration to a number of legal articling students.

Hoy and the students were at a reception at the Toronto-Dominion Centre when Hoy decided to prove that the glass of a window was unbreakable.

He had reportedly done this demonstration before and had bounced harmlessly back against the glass. Hence, why he felt safe demonstrating again.

However, this time the glass popped out of it's frame and Hoy plunged to his death 24 stories down. His death contributed to the closing of fairly large Holden Day Wilson three years later in 1996.
