Goats were such a problem in the Galapagos, they brought a sniper to kill them all!

The domestic goat is a subspecies of goat domesticated from the wild goat of southwest Asia and Eastern Europe. There are over 300 distinct breeds of goat. Goats are one of the oldest domesticated species, and have been used for their milk, meat, hair, and skins over much of the world.

In the 20th century, they gained popularity as pets. Female goats are referred to as “does” or “nannes”, intact males as “bucks” or “billies”, and their offspring as “kids”. Goat meat from younger animals is called “kid” or cabrito in places such as Monterrey, Mexico in which cabrito is a very popular meal.

Despite the fact of being very cute animals, there was a huge problem with goats on the Galapagos islands, in which goats had taken over the island. The situation was so bad that the park services brought in a sniper to take them out. Watch the video in the source link!
