Dolphins give each other names!
We know dolphins are pretty smart. In fact, you could say that we're not smart enough yet to know just how smart they really are. A new study by Scottish researchers found that dolphins have names for each other.
The researchers recorded signature whistles of certain animals in the group, along with other sounds they make. When a dolphin hears his or her own identifying sound, it responds by whistling back.
