Men and women see the color red very differently.

Women tend to see various shades of red, such as maroon, cardinal, and crimson. However, men typically just see red; no tones, hues, or shades. This reason for this is DNA. Researchers from Arizona State University discovered that there’s a particular gene which allows us to see the color red.
This gene sits on the X chromosome, which women have two of and men only have one of. Thus, women have a full and complex grasp of the red spectrum. Men however, only know a few shades of red.
